Adults - Anxiety Psychotherapy

Anxiety can numb the mind. Psychotherapeutic treatment for anxiety helps protect the human psyche from the freezing effects of depression.
Is anxiety part of the human condition?
Statistics estimate that between 1.5% and 18.1% of individuals aged 18 to 54 experience anxiety.
Ranging from persistent, low-level irritability to deeply destabilizing panic attacks, anxiety exists on a continuum of affective states that cause distress and significantly reduce quality of life.
Anxiety may feel like it is running your daily life - everything becomes a source of tension and discomfort.
- what to wear…
- how to impress your superiors…
- whether you’ll get stuck in heavy traffic…
- whether your child is coping well at school…
- whether your friends and colleagues truly like you…
- how to save money…
- how to manage your debts or loans…
- how deeply the global crisis is affecting you
When these thoughts seem to collide endlessly in your mind, already exhausted by constant concern for your own health or your family’s, you do not need me to confirm to you that life no longer feels enjoyable for you.
Anxiety at every stage of life
Nothing ever feels truly satisfying.
- You are very young, yet dissatisfied because you feel you have not reached your full potential
- You have a fulfilling life, but your focus is drawn only to the fact that you are not in a relationship
- You are planning an important event while worrying about everything that could go wrong
- You got married yesterday and are already anxious about how you will afford your child’s future education
- You avoid meeting people you like because your hair does not look perfect
- You avoid opportunities to be seen or to speak in public, out of fear of being judged.
Many people who struggle with anxiety wonder: did my parents struggle with anxiety as well? Is anxiety learned? Is anxiety inherited, like eye color? Is it possible to stop the overwhelming thoughts and worries that accompany it?
Do you feel that if you could do so, your life would return to normal?
These are questions that can be explored and answered in therapy.
How do you know when you need treatment for anxiety?
- When it interferes with the quality of your life
- When panic attacks occur
- When you experience excessive worry about minor issues
- When you imagine catastrophic outcomes based on ordinary events
If these experiences sound familiar, maybe the thing is that you are no longer able to fully enjoy life. This happens when your mind is used for self-blame or persistent distress, rather than for your own well-being and fulfillment.
Your mind is a tool and perhaps the time has come to learn how to use it, rather than be controlled by it.
How can I help?
Therapy with a dedicated, well-trained, and warm psychotherapist can be highly effective in the treatment of anxiety. I will not judge you; instead, I will meet you with calm acceptance and understanding, as we gradually explore the sources of your anxiety together.
You will also learn practical ways to calm yourself in the moment.
I will help you recognize the early warning signs of anxiety, so you can move through it with greater courage and confidence.
My therapeutic techniques are tailored to your unique individuality, allowing us to work together through both your personal history and your present-day experiences.
Here are some examples of how anxiety may manifest:
- Performance anxiety - competitions, exams
- Anxiety related to artistic exposure or public presentation
- Social anxiety - emotional blockage before group interactions or romantic encounters
- Anxiety related to change or life transitions
- Intense anxiety occurring during the night
The question you may want to ask yourself is: why continue to suffer, when you can regain control over your happiness?
Is medication necessary for anxiety?
We are all different.
Many individuals who experience anxiety can manage their symptoms effectively through psychotherapy alone, without the need for medication.
In other cases, medication may be recommended alongside psychotherapy for a limited period of time.
We will work together to determine the best approach for you. If adding medication to your therapeutic plan is necessary, I will refer you to a psychiatrist I trust, ensuring safe care for your wellbeing.
Does it take long?
The more engaged you are in exploring the sources of your anxiety, the sooner you are likely to feel better.
Positive results can often appear relatively quickly, but it’s important to remember that we are all different, and I will support you throughout the journey you have chosen to begin.
The reality is that your anxiety did not appear overnight, you have spent a lifetime being calm and composed.
A fulfilling and satisfying life cannot be led by anxiety. Psychotherapeutic treatment with a supportive and experienced therapist can help you understand the symptoms of anxiety and build a sense of well-being. This also reduces the risk of developing depression as a result of prolonged anxiety.
I am here to help make things easier for you.
